Seasonal Colour Theory

Seasonal colour analysis is an in-depth approach by a trained colour consultant, incorporating skin tone, eye and hair colour to formulate a person’s best individual colour palette.

All colour tones can be divided into four categories, which are named after the seasons – the ‘lighter’ colours and tones of Spring and Summer seasons, and the ‘darker’ colours and tones of Autumn and Winter.

Through analysis of skin tone, hair colour, and eye colour, followed by carefully selected colour draping, we can identify an individual’s ‘Season’. By harmonising this with their individual personality, we can determine which colours will ensure they look their best – through clothing, jewellery, make-up and hair colour. The outcome can make an immediate visible difference to the way someone looks and feels.

FAQs

  • Definitely not. Colour analysis consultations are tailored and refined to you as an individual. It’s about providing you with the colours that will make you look and feel amazing, not rigid rules.

  • Not if you don’t like bright colours. Once we have worked out your Season, and ascertained your personality traits, we can put the two together and identify the colours that best suit you alongside which you like best.

  • No, its more about having a wardrobe of pieces that really work for you, learning about how to work with what you have and love, and awareness when shopping in the future.

  • For those who never leave the house without make-up, I completely understand how this can make you feel self-conscious and uncomfortable. Unfortunately, it is extremely difficult to see your true skin tone with any make- up on, therefore, if you would prefer to arrive with make-up, we can remove it once you are here.

  • No, you can wear whatever you like, as long as it isn’t too high up around your neck. I will need a white base to start the colour draping, but I can use a white draping cape around your shoulders to provide a blank canvas to work from (this is washed after each client).

  • Absolutely not. Finding the colours and tones that compliment a man’s natural skin tone, especially those clothes worn near the face, can not only enhance a man’s appearance, making them look younger and healthier, but also increases confidence - exactly the same as with women. Learning how to combine colours and patterns is of great benefit, whether considering work or casual wear.
